On World Photography Day, the exhibition ‘The Kodheli Brothers and Kolë Idromeno’ is inaugurated

World Photography Day is celebrated every year on August 19, with the aim of honoring photographers who have contributed to the field of photography and encouraging people to engage with the art form, according to “The Economic Times.”

Photographers also pay tribute to the pioneers of the art who inspired them to pursue photography.

The Frenchmen Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce developed the first photographic process in 1837, known as the ‘Daguerreotype.’

The “Marubi” Museum, as every year on August 19, celebrates the art of photography by organizing various events for World Photography Day.

The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, announced that this year’s celebration of the date will be preceded by the opening of the exhibition “The Kodheli Brothers and Kolë Idromeno.”

The exhibition opens today at 7:00 PM.

In the history of Albanian photography, the “Marubi” photo archive in Shkodër is mentioned, which includes photographs over 150 years old and are still preserved today.
