EU4Culture project has returned to the Rubik Monastery Church. Dr. Çaushi and his expert conservation team are focused on preserving 13th-century mural fragments.

The main goal is to clean and consolidate the remaining artwork. However, restoration often reveals unexpected finds beneath layers of plaster.

The team discovered mural paintings on both side walls of the church apse, in fragile condition dating from a later period.

Additionally, inscriptions were found beneath centuries of dust and various layers. EU4Culture notes that significant work remains, with the aim of integrating these new discoveries for public appreciation.
