Young Albanians and Italians are bringing Balkan music tonight to ‘Liria’ Square in Durrës

The “Aleksandër Moisiu” Theater of the city of Durrës invites all art lovers to attend a true spectacle on Tuesday at “Liria” Square in Durrës.

Tonight, the group “Balkan Bazar,” formed in 2018 by Wilson Luari, an Albanian musician and music therapist living in Italy, along with other Italian musicians from the group, will perform in the square.

The concert is supported by the Municipality of Durrës as well as the “Aleksandër Moisiu” Theater. The idea for the project came from a group of friends and colleagues who wanted to bring Balkan culture, especially Albanian culture, to the Italian music scene. The “Balkan Bazar” repertoire includes more than fifty songs, some drawn from Balkan folklore and others newly created by the group. The musical idea is to blend tradition with rock music.

The group “Balkan Bazar” takes its name as a tribute to the film of the same title by Albanian director Edmond Budina.
