Reconstruction of Asdreni Museum in Drenova Begins

The Museum dedicated to the multifaceted figure and poet Aleks Stavri Drenova, known as Asdreni, located in the village of Drenova in Korça, has started its reconstruction.
The original building had deteriorated over time and no longer provided adequate conditions to serve as a proper museum.
A collection of materials related to Aleksandër Stavre Drenvova, better known as Asdreni, has been assembled. Asdreni is renowned for his idealistic portrayal of rural life, often depicting farmers with warmth and sympathy.
Asdreni lived in Drenova until the age of 14 before relocating to Bucharest, where he became part of a substantial Albanian community, primarily from Korça. Many of the items to be exhibited in the museum have been sourced from Albanian living in Bucharest.
The lines of Albanian National Anthem belong to the pen of Asdreni.
The reconstruction of the museum is funded by the Municipality of Korça and the Albanian Development Fund. Alongside the museum, the building will also feature a day center for elderly residents of Drenova.
