The Ethnographic Museum of Kruja and its impact on the local economy of the city

The Ethnographic Museum of Kruja has come alive with its first visitors following its reopening.
With the reopening, over 200,000 local and international visitors are expected to visit the Kruja Museum Center (comprising the Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg Museum and the Ethnographic Museum) this year.
“We are delighted to see that the historic area has positively impacted the local economy, significantly increasing the number of businesses operating in the tourism sector and promoting employment, bringing numerous social and economic benefits,” the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja shared in a social media post, along with footage of the first visitors since the reopening.
The museum houses over 3,000 artifacts, showcasing Albania’s rich cultural heritage, traditional ways of life, and customs over the centuries.
This architectural treasure and tourist attraction has already been visited by 75,000 tourists, marking a 110% increase compared to the first half of 2023.
